Your eyes are unique – and your prescription helps us to ensure that your contact lenses or glasses will be perfect for you. You’ll need a valid prescription, from a registered eye care practitioner, and it should be dated within the past 12 months. We can only supply enough lenses to last the duration of your prescription. If you’re ordering contact lenses, you’ll need a contact lens prescription – a glasses prescription isn't suitable, as it contains slightly different information about your eyes. At Optics Direct, we can offer you eye tests at our shop in Cheam – just call 020 8642 2193 for an appointment – or you can search for opticians in your area using the NHS Choices website
SENDING US YOUR PRESCRIPTION
Optics Direct will use the details provided by you to supply replacement contact lenses or glasses. We will need to see a signed and dated prescription, and this can be faxed, emailed, or sent to us by post. Prescriptions should be current and valid.

LOST YOUR PRESCRIPTION?
Don't worry, we can get it for you. Your contact lens prescription legally belongs to you, and you should be given it after every eye appointment. If you have already been fitted with contact lenses, the optician who fitted you should provide you with your prescription without further charge – as that’s the law. We can obtain your prescription on your behalf, if you provide details of your eye care practioner. Please call Optics Direct on 020 8642 2193.
THE LAW
We supply contact lenses in accordance with Opticians Act Ireland (1956) and the UK Opticians Act (1989). By law, we can only supply the same contact lenses as prescribed and fitted by your optician.
VISITING YOUR OPTICIAN
We strongly recommend that you continue to visit your optician for regular check-ups and prescriptions.
We won't be able to supply you with lenses if you don't have an up to date prescription. Your optician will monitor the health of your eyes, and can provide advice on aftercare. You are not obliged to buy from the optician who provides you with an eye test. So don’t forget to pick up your prescription after your check-up!
PRESCRIPTION CHANGE
If you’d like us to set up a repeat order for you, and your prescription changes, just send us a copy of your new prescription, and we will deliver your new replacement contact lenses to fit your new prescription.
